How to Choose
Step 1: What's Your Largest Appliance?
List your biggest 240V power draw:
Kettle: 1500-3000W
Microwave: 800-1000W
Dishwasher: 1500-2000W
Coffee maker: 800W
Step 2: Add Surge Power
Some appliances use 2-3x their rated power when starting (compressors, heaters). Add 50% headroom.
1000W appliance + 50% = 1500VA inverter needed minimum
Step 3: Consider Running Multiple Appliances
Want to use kettle and run laptop at same time?
Kettle (1500W) + Laptop (100W) = 1600VA → 2000VA MultiPlus

What About Battery Size?
The inverter and battery must match:
1200VA Inverter
Minimum 100Ah battery (for starting surge)
2000VA Inverter
Minimum 200Ah battery (Victron recommends this)
3000VA Inverter
Minimum 300Ah battery (for sustained power)
Our Recommendation
Oversizing your inverter is fine — it just means more power available. Undersizing causes appliances to fail or voltage sag.
💡 Pro Tip:
Go one size up from what you think you need. It costs only £100-200 more but gives you years of flexibility.
